Measuring machine for rims for off road vehicle wheels
The measuring machine measures a rim or an assembled wheel according to ISO 16833.
The Fontijne Holland measuring machine checks the quality of the product. The measuring principle is contactless with two laser sensors and an imaging camera if applicable. The laser sensors are for measuring the distance and are manipulated by a robot or a linear module. The camera is used for quality measuring of surfaces and / or for checking the knurling grooves.
The machine can be used as a stand-alone machine with manual loading or as an inline wheel measuring machine for 100% production check.
The Fontijne Holland measuring machine for rims, originally designed for wheel production, can also be used for other applications, where circular products need to be measured automatically.
The process of the measuring machine for rims
The Fontijne Holland measuring machine will be able to measure the beat seat diameter and circumferences inboard and outboard, the radial and axial run-out inboard and outboard, the 1st up to the 10th harmonics of the measured diameters, the low or high point angle and amplitude (possibility of marking low or highpoint with dimple or paint dot), average wheel width, offset of disc (ET value), flange width and height, hump circumferences, pilot hole diameter, etc. The machine can be equipped with statistical process controls (SPC) like frequency graphs, Cp / CpK calculations, trend analysis, approval / rejection percentages.
Unique features:
- The rim is placed on the turning table and the system calculates the deviation in relation to the center of the rim.
- The measuring machine is capable of checking the presence and the dimension of the knurling.
- Algorithm to process the measured data for predictive maintenance issues.
