As an international account manager, you take the lead at Fontijne Holland.

At Fontijne Holland, we develop and produce machinery for the production of steel wheels for the automotive industry. Our clients are literally spread all over the world, so it’s really important that you enjoy traveling and that this fits into your life. Since we operate in a niche, it’s important that you get to know the market, gain an understanding of the emerging opportunities, and further strengthen existing relationships. A sales process is then a lengthy and (technically) complex process where you take the lead and communicate with the client at all levels. We have a compact organization, so you have a broad role in business development, relationship management, proposal development, and you are the connecting link with the client in the realization of projects.

In short, your tasks and responsibilities consist of:

  • Maintaining and expanding the global client portfolio, directly engaging with the end customer.
  • Proactively seizing opportunities by providing technical bespoke advice.
  • Keeping track of developments in Salesforce in close collaboration with the commercial back office.
  • Developing a clear market vision to contribute to the strategic development of the organization.

In this role, it’s primarily about who you are as a person: You’re a technically inclined sales manager who quickly gets to the core of a customer conversation. Here, you gain insight into the needs and primary processes, enabling you to advise not just a ‘product’ but a comprehensive solution. Internally, you represent the customer, ensuring that the customer-specific machines seamlessly align with expectations and even surpass them.

Naturally, you’re a communicatively strong connector who recognizes and seizes opportunities. You can handle the responsibility of a free commercial role and know how to persuade people based on substance and charm.

Furthermore, you should have:

  • HBO-level thinking and working with education in a technical field, preferably mechanical engineering.
  • At least five years of global international experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in selling technically complex products or total projects within the industry, with experience in the automotive sector being a significant advantage.
  • Very good command of the English language in both speech and writing, with at least conversational proficiency in Dutch. Proficiency in other modern languages such as German, French, or Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel intercontinentally, approximately 30% of the time. Additionally, you will mainly work from the office in Vlaardingen due to the team’s connection.
  • Experience with Salesforce or a similar system is very helpful but not required.
